How to avoid getting a parking ticket:

  • Double check your details: Make sure you’ve entered parking details correctly – such as your license plate number – when paying for parking.
  • Allow yourself extra time: Purchase enough parking so that your time won’t expire in the event that you are on campus longer than expected.
  • Read the signs: Parking privileges and rates can vary based on location. Please take care to park in designated areas only and be sure to read the signs carefully to ensure you are parking in an appropriate space.
  • Pay by cellphone using the Honk Mobile App: Download the Honk Mobile App and receive text alerts, enabling you to extend your time remotely.
  • Do not idle in no park zones: Do not park or block fire routes, medical spaces, bus stops, buildings or walkway entrances.
  • Purchase a Permit:  If you regularly park at UBC, then a monthly parking permit is an ideal solution.
