Q: Is my permit valid on the date it expires?

Daily, monthly, yearly and term permits are valid until 11:59pm of the day they expire.

Q: Do I need to display my parking receipt or permit on the dashboard of my vehicle?

No, it is not necessary to display a receipt or permit on the dashboard. The license plate associated with the payment is reflected in our computer system.

Q: I have a full-time permit from another university, like SFU or UVic, do I still have to pay for parking?

UBC has reciprocal parking agreements with Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria. If you have Faculty, Staff or Emeritus yearly permits from one of these institutions, you can park at UBC for no more than two consecutive days using the permit from your home university.

Parking with this type of permit is only available at North, Rose Garden, Fraser, Thunderbird, West and Health Sciences Parkades.

Please forward a copy of your valid full-time permit or permit purchase receipt to parking.support@ubc.ca with your license plate number and the dates you will be parking on campus.

Q: Where is the UBC Parking Office/ Access Desk located?

The Parking Office/ Access Desk is located inside the UBC Bookstore at 6200 University Boulevard.

Q: Are there Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at UBC?

UBC currently has Level 2 EV charging stations in the following locations:

  • West Parkade on level 4
  • North Parkade on level 2
  • Health Sciences Parkade on level 1
  • Rose Garden Parkade on level 5
  • Thunderbird Parkade on level 1
  • Fraser River Parkade on the lower level
  • University Blvd lot (also featured with DC fast chargers)

Vehicles occupying an EV station must be charging AND display a valid parking permit OR paid parking time.

Parking fees can be paid via Honk Mobile App or at the pay stations (which are separate from the charging stations).

Charging fees can be paid through the Honk Mobile App or using a web browser with internet access.

Q: Is there motorcycle parking on campus?

Yes, all parkades have stalls designated for motorcycles. Review our rates and locations.
